- Common Questions
Residential & Commercial Electronics Removal FAQs
No confusion, just clear answers.
How do you dispose of electronics responsibly?
We work with certified e-waste recyclers. Electronics also contain hazardous components, such as lead and mercury, that should never be sent to the landfill. We ensure 100% responsible recycling.
What types of electronics do you accept?
We accept almost all electronic items, including:
- TVs (flat screen, LCD, LED, plasma, projection)
- Computers and laptops
- Monitors
- Printers and scanners
- Stereos and speakers
- Gaming consoles
- DVD and Blu-ray players
- Cable boxes and receivers
- Microwaves
- Small kitchen electronics
- Office equipment (copiers, fax machines)
- Cables, cords, and wires
What type of electronics do you NOT accept?
The following require special handling or separate disposal:
- Large servers and mainframes (call for quote)
- Industrial electronics
- Items containing radioactive materials
- Smoke detectors (contain small amounts of radioactive material; check local guidelines)
- Large copiers over 500 lbs (call for quote)
Do you recycle electronics?
Absolutely! The copper wiring in cables and cords is highly recyclable. Simply bag them up or toss them in a box, and our staff will haul them away along with your other electronics.
Can you remove electronics from my office or business?
Yes! We provide commercial electronics removal for:
- Offices (computers, monitors, printers)
- Schools and universities
- Medical facilities
- Retail stores (registers, displays)
- Warehouses
- Data centers (servers, racks, call for quote)
What about old batteries and light bulbs?
We accept household batteries and fluorescent light bulbs in addition to your electronics removal. They contain hazardous materials and need to be recycled properly. Just inform our team that you have them when we arrive.
Do you wipe data from computers and hard drives?
We recommend you remove or wipe your hard drives before we arrive. Your data is your responsibility; we just handle the physical extraction. Destruction documentation can be made available to our commercial clients through our certified recycling partners. Just ask when booking.
How do I prepare my electronics for removal?
No special preparation needed! Just:
- Unplug all items before we arrive
- Bundle cords and cables if possible
- Point out what goes
- Relax!
For computers and devices containing personal information, we strongly recommend wiping or removing the hard drive in advance.
Do you remove built-in electronics like wall-mounted TVs?
Yes, we can remove wall-mounted TVs without any problem. Simply inform us when booking so our team comes prepared with the right tools.
Is electronics removal more expensive than regular junk removal?
No, the same volume-based pricing applies. A tiny TV occupies as much space as a chair. A full computer hutch (monitor, tower, printer) occupies the same space as a small dresser. You’re paying for the space, rather than the type of item.
